Well, Toki Tori 2 (made for WiiU and PC) is a 2D game about a cute little yellow bird, and you can walk around on this HUGE island (with gorgeous HD graphics and animations). When you start the game, you discover you have 3 abilities: move around (and climb ladders), ground pound and whistle. And there is no dialogue in the game, you just "discover" everything! You can navigate the island by using your moves, every animal reacts differently to them. The story slowly unfolds while you move around on the island. The game can be a bit desorienting because there is no dialogue or explanation, but that makes it a lot more satisfying when you complete another difficult level because you did it all by yourself!
I really like it because it's unlike any other game I had played before, and I love how you can just walk around freely.
Toki Tori 1 for the Gameboy Color is a puzzle adventure. It's a bit more lineair than 2, there is no giant world, you just complete levels in different worlds. It looks amazing for a GBC game and the soundtrack is pretty nice. The level design is really good. 1 and 2 are very different games.
