Hey y'all! Sorry for not posting here more often, but it's really no secret that this
website keeps getting worse.
With the impending forced
Eclipse transition, I will probably be even less active here. Still leaving my
gallery up though, no worries!
I've been busy in
other places on the web:
- Twitter.com/RealMarkProd is where I post most of my art these days. It's not as nice as Deviantart's organized gallery system though. Do you know a good alternative?
- Twitter.com/RaymanReanimate /RaymanReanimated on YT is where I've been hosting reanimated- and doodle collabs! There's a new one starting TODAY!
It's been so much fun meeting other Rayman fans, they're all so creative. I also post plenty of memes there, hehe X) - And then there's youtube.com/markproductions! I've been posting art and game-related videos there. Recently organized my video list a bit, have a look!
I try my best to
keep in touch with the awesome people I've met on this site, but there's so many of you that it's gotten really hard. Don't be scared to
reach out and say hi!
Comment below if you feel like catching up for old time's sake
Thanks for reading this! I hope to see you agani. Have a great day!
~Mark
P.S.Yeah that's right, I used a rainbow heart emoji. Man. Things sure have changed much since I joined this site. Not to get all nostalgic and sentimental, but let's get
nostalgic and sentimental for a sec!
Gosh, remember my first upload here? I made that back in 2012, first few years of high school. Greek/Roman literature was all the rage back then. And cows, of course.
My friends saw my art and convinced me to join this site too. A lot has happened since then. But I'm very happy to say that I'm still friends with those amazing people!
And then there was the whole Dad-A-Knight thing, wow! That got so popular, I'm still blown away by that (18,000 PEOPLE SAW THE ROBOBOT PARODY, HOLY HECK)!
Too bad it ended on a bit of a sour note. One of the surprisingly few negative interactions I've had with people on this site.
I know people tend to be negative when referring to Deviantart and its users, but oh my gosh, 99% of all the people I've met here have been so nice! I just hope I've done enough to return that kindness. I really do appreciate everyone's support, I can still hardly believe the ludicrous amount of people who have helped me over the years to get where I am now.
There's so much else to talk about. Ghooost, Rabbit and Dino, Inktobers, starting a Youtube channel, finding the courage to do commissions, starting to do papercrafts, comic dubs, meeting my boyfriend, getting an art job, animatics, partaking in (and hosting!) a reanimated collab...!
Last but not least: starting a comic again, but at my own pace this time, about a subject that's closer to my own experiences and with a simpler artstyle that allows me to stop being a perfectionist for once. It's not the best looking thing that I've ever made, but the comments I got on it mean so much to me. It really resonated with some people, and most importantly, with myself. For years I've been doing art almost exclusively for other people. I let people take advantage of my kindness, and I'm still learning to love myself more. But I've definitely made progress. It gives me hope.
On a side note: I'm also having more fun with my own characters now (got some cool things with Mike, Buck and Piggow planned), and I try to worry less about drawing fanart of things I like instead of forcing myself to make original content. I hope me writing about my experiences can help others too. Anyway, long story short: I've learned a lot during my stay on this website, both art-wise and life-wise. A lot of it is thanks to you and your support, and gosh, I'm incredibly grateful for that. Okay I'm going to stop typing now because this journal is huge already okay byeeee!!
